Creation of Alpha Casting, Corp., manufacturer of brass and aluminum parts located in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.

The energy crisis of the moment favored Alfa Casting Corp. The increase in the cost of electricity creates the market for solar water heaters. The company expanded the plant in Toa Baja.

As a result of increased solar water heaters sales, Universal Solar Products, Inc. was established to manage sales to customers.

Developed World Financial, Corp. to finance their products. Established within the Finance Department an Insurance Premiums section and World Mortgage Corp. to finance mortgage loans.

The original company, Alfa Casting Corp. became the administrator of the properties and Solar Energy Products, Inc., became the manufacturing division.

For the bad quality of drinking water,  an Osmosis Water Softener system is introduced, a method that purifies water by eliminating 99 percent of chemical contaminants in drinking water. It also introduces a solar water heater for swimming pools.

The Mayagüez Campus of the University of Puerto Rico (RUM) and the Office of Energy chooses Universal Solar Products, Inc. to develop the first solar air conditioner.

The second solar air conditioner is installed at the offices of the company, at 1108 Roosevelt Avenue, San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Due to high energy costs and the need to seek new sources of renewable energy to eliminate dependence on fossil fuels, photovoltaic systems are introduced.

The company's strong growth in sales continues, leading to the upcoming opening of an office in Miami, Florida, before the end of the year.
